MISS SUCETTE

Her name is Virginie yet she goes by the name of Sucette, and it’s no wonder why! She is an artist who’s pieces are bold, strong... and very very original; so why not have an even more unique name to match?
Enduring a childhood filled with constant reruns of horror movies and old cartoons, Sucetter refers to her life as living in a nightmare world. Yet with such depth to her views on the universe and what lies ahead for us, she still has a soft spot which she holds for the little creatures that most of us call pets. She has a love for animals which she holds with higher regard than her love for humans and eventually wants to reside on a farm with all her little furry friends in tow. Is this why most of her imagery contains a tiny animal within the art? We do not know. What we do know is that these pieces tell a story of creativity in a way that many of us cannot imagine.
In describing herself and her work Sucette says ‘With an imagination overflowing, painting was just a result for me, a manner to exorcizing my childhood fears. With my own universe, I propel you in a fantastic world where the monsters and animals in any kind mix with a quite atypical character played by Berangere’ – Bernagere being the the ‘principal’ hero in all of her works.
